iFoodbank was created to address the gap between food waste and nutritional deficiency.

The iFoodbank team will also be working with social welfare organizations.
In 2014, an estimated 200 tons of food was wasted in Taiwan. To address this problem, a student team from NTU’s Global MBA program created the iFoodbank application to help businesses effectively manage their food supplies.
The team of six GMBA students includes second-year student Gao-Jia Lee (李高嘉), and two international students, one from India and the other from Finland.
The iFoodbank project was selected among the top 30 at this year’s NTU Creativity & Entrepreneurship Competition. The idea was also featured in a lecture at the Taipei Rotary Club.
In July, the team will travel to Milan, Italy for the 2015 Social Enterprise World Forum where it has been invited to present its idea for the food management application.
