The 2018 NTU Commencement Ceremony was held on the main campus on June 10. Interim President Tei-Wei Kuo (郭大維) congratulated and encouraged all the graduating students to fulfil their potential and dreams. In his opening address, Dr. Kuo also reminded the graduates of the infinite possibilities and global competition they will face in this fast-changing era of globalization. The guest speaker of this year was Dr. Chih-Yuan Lu (盧志遠), President of Macronix International and Chairman of Ardentec, who shared his academic and career experience with the graduates, offering his encouragement and best wishes to them.

In the morning on the commencement day, Dr. Kuo led a procession joined by executive vice presidents, vice presidents, college deans, and the graduating Class of 2018 through the main campus toward the NTU Sports Center, appreciating the beauty of the campus while greeted by the enthusiastic cheers of students still at school. After the procession, the graduates had their tassels turned and received their diplomas at the ceremony. The central themes of this ceremony were lifelong learning, diversity and creativity, and international cooperation—reminding the graduates of the importance of critical thinking, creativity, and leadership. The ceremony was also open to the graduates’ parents and family, and those who were not present could watch the ceremony live at http://www.ntu.edu.tw/.
