NTU COVID-19 Prevention Message – During winter vacation, please observe and comply with the following Precautionary Measures.

Winter vacation will soon begin on January 18, 2021. As the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging globally, the University would like your cooperation and attention to the following during the vacation to jointly safeguard each other’s health.

In daily life:

  • Maintain appropriate social distancing (1.5 meters indoors and 1 meter outdoors). Please wear a mask where social distancing is not possible. Wear a mask at all times when you enter the following eight types of venues: healthcare facilities, public transportation, places of consumption, places of learning, sports and exhibition, leisure and entertainment, houses of worship, and business offices.
  • Avoid crowded and poorly-ventilated public places or tourist attractions to prevent the spread of respiratory infectious diseases. Please also wash your hands frequently, practice hand hygiene, and observe cough etiquette.
  • Minimize chances of gatherings as they are high-risk activities that can spread the virus. When gatherings are necessary, avoid close contact with non-specific or strangers. Pay attention to hand sanitation and food safety.
  • Do not attend large events or take public transportation if you have symptoms suspected of COVID-19 such as fever, respiratory complications, diarrhea, and loss of smell and taste. Seek medical attention immediately and the doctor will determine if a test should be administered.

Traveling abroad:

  • All members of the NTU community should avoid non-essential or non-urgent trips abroad. Faculty and staff should seek the Executive Vice President’s special administrative approval when such trips are necessary, urgent and there is no alternative to going abroad in person.
  • After returning to Taiwan, please observe regulations governing the 14-day home quarantine and 7-day self-health management, and file a notification at the NTU Website for Disease Control. At the same time, notify the COVID-19 contact person of your affiliated administrative (or departmental) offices.
  • People who are asymptomatic during the 7-day self-health management may resume daily activities but should still avoid going to public places. If going out is necessary, wear a medical mask throughout the entire trip.
  • If you have symptoms suspected of COVID-19 such as fever, respiratory complications, diarrhea, and loss of smell and taste during the 14-day home quarantine and 7-day self-health management, please wear a mask immediately, call 1922 or contact a local department of health, and follow the instruction to seek medical attention at a medical testing facility in the designated community. Do not go there by public transportation.
