Congratulations! NTU Faculty Members Li Chyong Chen and Yiting Li Elected as the 33rd Academicians of Academia Sinica.
Academia Sinica recently announced its latest list of Academicians. NTU faculty members Li Chyong Chen and Yiting Li were elected as the 33rd Academicians of Academia Sinica. All the NTU members are proud of their profound efforts and outstanding achievements.
Yiting Li, Distinguished Professor of the Department of Economics, is currently a director of the Central Bank of the Republic of China. Li has a bachelor’s degree in international trade, a master’s degree in economics from NTU, and a doctor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1997, she served as a visiting scholar of the Federal Reserve Board. She was awarded the 15th National Chair Professorship by the Ministry of Education in 2011 and has been appointed as NTU Chair Professor since the academic year of 2022. Li’s research fields range from monetary theory and banking to financial markets.
Li Chyong Chen, Distinguished Researcher of NTU Center for Condensed Matter Sciences, is currently Director of the Center of Atomic Initiative for New Materials at NTU. Chen graduated from the Department of Physics with a bachelor’s degree in and obtained a doctor’s degree in applied physics from Harvard University. She won the Academic Award from the Ministry of Education and received the honor of Elected Fellow by the Taiwan Vacuum Society in 2018. Chen was also given the Taiwan Outstanding Female Scientist Award in 2017. She has different areas of expertise, including nanomaterials, thin film technologies, energy, optoelectronics, and sensing.
