French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) visits NTU to strengthen bilateral collaboration in chemistry research.

In October 2023, NTU President Wen-Chang Chen and Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Hsiao-Wei Yuan visited French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) to sign a cooperation agreement with CNRS Chairman Dr. Antoine Petit at the witness of ROC Ambassador to France Dr. Chih-Chung Wu. To return the visit, the head of CNRS Chemistry Dr. Jacques Maddaluno, the Deputy Dr. Alexandre Legri, as well as the East Asia Director Jacques Maleval came to NTU on November 27 in the company of Prof. Redouane Borsali (also a Joint Director of Advanced Research Center for Green Materials Science and Technology at NTU). Both sides took the opportunity to discuss further projects for collaboration.

The visit is expected to push for bilateral research projects and educational cooperation. The areas touched on include chemistry, material science, and oceanic biology. By exploring potential subsidies and exchange programs, both sides expressed strong interest in furthering the exchanges among Taiwanese and French scholars and students.

Dr. Redouane Borsali, a Joint Director of Advanced Research Center for Green Materials Science and Technology at NTU, and Deputy Director Ru-Jong Jeng gave the delegation a tour of the center. Department Chair Chun-Chung Chan also introduced magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry facilities on campus to our visitors. All participants looked forward to an expanded bilateral cooperation between Taiwan and France on research and talent cultivation in related areas.
