NTU launches Pre-U Math and Science Program.
In 2024, National Taiwan University (NTU) once again launched its “NTU Pre-U Program for Math and Science,” offering three online preparatory courses: “Calculus,” “General Physics,” and “General Chemistry,” to help incoming freshmen prepare the foundational knowledge in mathematics and science essential for university learning.
This year marks the second year of the NTU Pre-U pilot program. The courses will be delivered asynchronously through the NTU COOL platform, with no restrictions on enrollment numbers or participants. The course content has four main facets: review high school-taught concepts, introduce basic principles of university-level math and science, sharpen logical reasoning skills, and improve professional English proficiency. Accordingly, the program is aimed to help students review the basics as well as acquire new knowledge while also allowing them to adapt to the university’s modern learning environment integrated with physical and digital tools.
Online registration and payment for the preparatory courses are open from June 20 (Thu) to August 20 (Tue). Students from low-income and middle-low-income families are eligible for tuition subsidies. The online courses will be available from July 3 (Wed) to September 13 (Fri), and a learning assessment test will be held on September 21 (Sat). Students who complete the preparatory courses and pass the learning assessment test will receive an electronic course completion certificate. NTU students who complete the courses and pass the assessment will not only receive a completion certificate but also earn 1 credit per subject. All who are interested are welcome to enroll in the program.
